CIS Tax Returns FAQs
How much CIS refund am I owed?
Most subcontractors have 20% deducted at source all year — usually more than their final tax bill once expenses and the personal allowance are counted. Refunds of £1,500–£3,000 are common, claimed through your Self Assessment.
How quickly will my refund arrive?
Once the return is filed, HMRC typically pays CIS refunds within 2–6 weeks. We file promptly after 6 April so the claim is in the queue as early as possible.
What is gross payment status?
It lets contractors pay you without CIS deductions — better cash flow. You need to pass HMRC's turnover and compliance tests; we assess whether you qualify and handle the application.
Is this service really available anywhere in the UK?
Yes — the whole engagement is online, so location is irrelevant. Records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. Same service, same fixed fee, everywhere.
