What Inverleith gets with Bohzo Accountants
Upload, approve, filed. The whole engagement runs from your phone or laptop, on your schedule rather than office hours.
Before we touch anything for a Inverleith client, the fee is in writing — and it stays put. Hourly billing doesn't exist here.
Every filing date that applies to you goes in our diary the day you join — and we chase the records, not the other way round.
Bohzo Accountants is a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, Company No. 15031604.

“From” pricing reflects the simplest case; anything more complex is quoted as a fixed fee in writing before work begins — and never changes after.
Online accountants vs the high street
Traditional firms around Scotland still run on hourly billing, office appointments and fees you discover after the work. We built the opposite: written fixed fees agreed up front, unlimited questions inside the price, and a fully online workflow — no premises anywhere, so no premises priced into your fee in Inverleith.
There's no office to fund in Inverleith and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.
Bookkeeping in Inverleith: from first message to filed
Start with a message — no forms, no phone queue. Tell us what needs doing and we take it from there.
One fixed price before any work starts. Complex case? We say so now, not on the invoice.
The legal bits — ID verification, engagement letter — happen online in minutes, then your records come in via the portal or WhatsApp.
We prepare, you check and approve, we submit — and you get the HMRC confirmation the same day it's filed.
The same service in Inverleith as anywhere — by design
Whether your business trades from Inverleith itself or you simply live there and work everywhere, the tax rules are national — and so are we. Inverleith clients get the same preparers, the same fixed fees and the same deadline tracking as every other town on this site.
Smaller towns like Inverleith are exactly why we work online: the nearest high-street firm may be a drive away, keep office hours, and price like scarcity. Your accountant should be as close as your phone — and priced like competition exists.

Inverleith bookkeeping FAQs
Which bookkeeping software do you use?
Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent — whichever suits your business (or whichever you already use). Software subscription can be included in your monthly fee, and we handle all the setup and migration.
What counts as a transaction?
Each line on your bank statement — a payment in or out. Most one-person businesses sit comfortably under 50 a month. If you drift over your band we'll tell you before the fee changes, never after.
My books are months behind — can you catch them up?
Yes, catch-up bookkeeping is one of the most common jobs we take on. We'll quote a one-off fixed fee for the backlog, then a monthly fee to keep you current from there.
Do I need to visit an office in Inverleith?
No — there's nothing to visit and nothing to print. We're an online firm: records go through our secure portal or WhatsApp, and everything is filed electronically. It works the same whether you're in Inverleith or anywhere else in Scotland.
I searched "bookkeeping near me" — is this service really local to Inverleith?
Inverleith is fully covered, yes. The work is done online, which in practice means more local than an office: same-day replies instead of appointment slots, and the same published fixed fee whether you're in Inverleith town centre or the edge of Scotland. If you'd rather talk it through first, WhatsApp us — a real person answers.
Who will actually handle my bookkeeping?
Bohzo Accountants — a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a registered UK company (No. 15031604). You get a named contact, a fixed fee in writing, and nothing is filed until you've reviewed and approved it.
How do your fixed fees work?
You tell us your situation, we quote one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. If your case is unusually complex we'll say so up front and agree a different fixed price — but the fee is always agreed before we begin, never after.
The short version of the rules that matter
Inside-IR35 and outside-IR35 engagements need different setups — sometimes umbrella, sometimes the company, sometimes both across a year. Contractors who plan this per-engagement keep more and worry less.
The tax-free dividend allowance is down to £500, so almost any director taking dividends now pays some dividend tax — and needs a Self Assessment return to report it. The classic small-salary-plus-dividends strategy still works; it just needs actual planning rather than folklore.
The honest answer changes with your profits. At lower profits, sole trader simplicity usually wins; as profits grow, a limited company's mix of salary and dividends, corporation tax rates and liability protection starts earning its extra admin. We run the actual numbers before recommending either.
Filing early doesn't mean paying early: submit a return in May and the tax is still not due until the usual dates. Early filing buys certainty, refund speed and time to arrange payment — it costs nothing.
Some businesses register for VAT before they must — reclaiming input VAT can be worth it if your customers are VAT-registered themselves. Others should stay below deliberately. It's a real decision with real numbers, not a formality.
If your last Self Assessment bill was over £1,000, HMRC usually asks for next year's tax in advance — half on 31 January, half on 31 July. It's the number-one cause of "why is my bill double?" calls, and it's manageable: if your income has dropped, the payments can be reduced with a claim.
UK residential property sales have their own regime: report and pay within 60 days of completion, separately from Self Assessment. Other gains report annually. Mixing up the two timetables is a common and expensive mistake.
Limited companies in CIS reclaim differently to sole traders — through payroll or the company tax return rather than Self Assessment. Plenty of construction companies sit on refundable deductions without realising; a quick review of the CIS position often pays for itself immediately.
General guidance, not personal advice — thresholds and dates change. For advice on your own position in Inverleith, message us and we'll answer against your actual numbers.
