What makes us different

Online accountants vs the high street

A high-street accountant in South West typically bills by the hour, meets by appointment and prices each extra question. We work the other way round: one fixed fee agreed in writing before anything starts, every question included, and the whole engagement handled online — which is exactly why we can serve Treamble at fees a walk-in office can't match.

There's no office to fund in Treamble and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.

How it works

Bookkeeping in Treamble: from first message to filed

Message us from Treamble

A WhatsApp message from Treamble is enough to start: what you need, what shape your records are in, any deadline you're worried about.

Fixed quote in writing

The quote arrives in writing, covers everything discussed, and is the number you'll actually pay. No revisions later.

Online onboarding

Identity checks, engagement letter, secure record upload — all handled from wherever you are in Treamble. We chase whatever's missing.

Approve, then we file

Nothing is filed until you've seen and approved it. Once you have, submission is electronic and confirmation comes straight back.

Serving Treamble

The same service in Treamble as anywhere — by design

We built this service so that someone in Treamble never pays a premium — or accepts worse service — because of geography. Same specialists, same published fees, same speed, wherever in South West you are.

Smaller towns like Treamble are exactly why we work online: the nearest high-street firm may be a drive away, keep office hours, and price like scarcity. Your accountant should be as close as your phone — and priced like competition exists.

Questions

Treamble bookkeeping FAQs

Which bookkeeping software do you use?

Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent — whichever suits your business (or whichever you already use). Software subscription can be included in your monthly fee, and we handle all the setup and migration.

What counts as a transaction?

Each line on your bank statement — a payment in or out. Most one-person businesses sit comfortably under 50 a month. If you drift over your band we'll tell you before the fee changes, never after.

My books are months behind — can you catch them up?

Yes, catch-up bookkeeping is one of the most common jobs we take on. We'll quote a one-off fixed fee for the backlog, then a monthly fee to keep you current from there.

Do I need to visit an office in Treamble?

No — there's nothing to visit and nothing to print. We're an online firm: records go through our secure portal or WhatsApp, and everything is filed electronically. It works the same whether you're in Treamble or anywhere else in South West.

I searched "bookkeeping near me" — is this service really local to Treamble?

Treamble is fully covered, yes. The work is done online, which in practice means more local than an office: same-day replies instead of appointment slots, and the same published fixed fee whether you're in Treamble town centre or the edge of South West. If you'd rather talk it through first, WhatsApp us — a real person answers.

Who will actually handle my bookkeeping?

Bohzo Accountants — a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a registered UK company (No. 15031604). You get a named contact, a fixed fee in writing, and nothing is filed until you've reviewed and approved it.

How do your fixed fees work?

You tell us your situation, we quote one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. If your case is unusually complex we'll say so up front and agree a different fixed price — but the fee is always agreed before we begin, never after.

Worth knowing

Tax, briefly — the parts that affect Treamble

Making Tax Digital is coming for income tax

From April 2026, self-employed people and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 move onto Making Tax Digital for Income Tax: digital records and quarterly updates to HMRC, not one annual return. The year before is the right time to get bookkeeping into shape.

Dividends: the allowance is small now

Dividends can only be paid from accumulated profits, and paperwork matters: board minutes and dividend vouchers, dated correctly. "Illegal dividends" isn't dramatic language — overdrawn payments can be reclassified, with tax consequences, if the profits weren't there.

Allowable expenses: claim what's yours

Receipts win arguments. HMRC doesn't demand a shoebox of paper any more — photos in an app are fine — but every deduction needs evidence behind it. A ten-minute weekly habit beats a January archaeology dig, every time.

The 31 January deadline, without the panic

Online Self Assessment returns are due by 31 January, along with any balancing payment — and HMRC's £100 penalty applies the moment the deadline passes, even if you owe nothing. Most Treamble clients who come to us in January still file on time; the records just need to arrive before the last week.

Capital gains: windows and allowances

Timing disposals across tax years, using losses properly, and the spousal transfer rules can all legitimately reduce capital gains bills — but only before the sale. CGT planning after completion is just arithmetic.

Bookkeeping that takes minutes, not weekends

HMRC requires records to be kept for at least five years after the filing deadline for the self-employed. Digital copies count. A cloud folder or app now beats a carrier bag of paper every time — for you and for any future enquiry.

IR35 and working through a company

If you contract through your own limited company, IR35 asks whether you'd be an employee without it. For medium and large clients, the status decision is theirs; for small clients, it's still yours — and getting it wrong in either direction costs money.

Landlord tax has its own rules

Rental profits need reporting once they're more than trivial, and the rules differ for furnished holiday lets, rent-a-room and ordinary lets. Landlords are also in the first wave of Making Tax Digital — property income counts towards the £50,000 threshold.

General guidance, not personal advice — thresholds and dates change. For advice on your own position in Treamble, message us and we'll answer against your actual numbers.
