What makes us different

Online accountants vs the high street

Traditional firms around Yorkshire still run on hourly billing, office appointments and fees you discover after the work. We built the opposite: written fixed fees agreed up front, unlimited questions inside the price, and a fully online workflow — no premises anywhere, so no premises priced into your fee in York.

There's no office to fund in York and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.

How it works

Cash-Flow Forecasting in York: from first message to filed

Message us from York

Start with a message — no forms, no phone queue. Tell us what needs doing and we take it from there.

Fixed quote in writing

One fixed price before any work starts. Complex case? We say so now, not on the invoice.

Online onboarding

The legal bits — ID verification, engagement letter — happen online in minutes, then your records come in via the portal or WhatsApp.

Approve, then we file

We prepare, you check and approve, we submit — and you get the HMRC confirmation the same day it's filed.

Serving York

The same service in York as anywhere — by design

We built this service so that someone in York never pays a premium — or accepts worse service — because of geography. Same specialists, same published fees, same speed, wherever in Yorkshire you are.

A lot of our Yorkshire clients switched from local firms after one too many surprise invoices. The fix wasn't a cheaper local firm; it was removing the billing model that produces surprises. Fixed fees, in writing, before the work — that's the whole trick.

Questions

York cash-flow forecasting FAQs

Why 13 weeks?

It's the standard lenders and turnaround professionals use: long enough to see problems coming, short enough to stay accurate week by week. The 12-month version adds strategic planning on top.

What do you need from me to build it?

Access to your bookkeeping (or recent bank data), your debtor and creditor lists, and ten minutes on payment patterns. Most forecasts are delivered within a week of getting access.

What happens when the forecast shows a problem?

That's the point — seeing it early is what creates options: chasing debtors, delaying spend, arranging finance while banks still say yes, or agreeing HMRC time-to-pay in advance. We'll recommend the sequence in the flags section of the forecast.

Do I need to visit an office in York?

No — there's nothing to visit and nothing to print. We're an online firm: records go through our secure portal or WhatsApp, and everything is filed electronically. It works the same whether you're in York or anywhere else in Yorkshire.

I searched "cash-flow forecasting near me" — is this service really local to York?

York is fully covered, yes. The work is done online, which in practice means more local than an office: same-day replies instead of appointment slots, and the same published fixed fee whether you're in York town centre or the edge of Yorkshire. If you'd rather talk it through first, WhatsApp us — a real person answers.

Who will actually handle my cash-flow forecasting?

Bohzo Accountants — a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a registered UK company (No. 15031604). You get a named contact, a fixed fee in writing, and nothing is filed until you've reviewed and approved it.

How do your fixed fees work?

You tell us your situation, we quote one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. If your case is unusually complex we'll say so up front and agree a different fixed price — but the fee is always agreed before we begin, never after.

Worth knowing

Things worth knowing before your next filing

Payments on account, decoded

If your last Self Assessment bill was over £1,000, HMRC usually asks for next year's tax in advance — half on 31 January, half on 31 July. It's the number-one cause of "why is my bill double?" calls, and it's manageable: if your income has dropped, the payments can be reduced with a claim.

Making Tax Digital is coming for income tax

If you're a sole trader or landlord anywhere near the £50,000 income mark, Making Tax Digital will change your filing rhythm from 2026: four digital updates a year plus a final declaration. Clients who move their records to software early find the transition a non-event.

Capital gains: windows and allowances

UK residential property sales have their own regime: report and pay within 60 days of completion, separately from Self Assessment. Other gains report annually. Mixing up the two timetables is a common and expensive mistake.

What to actually look for in an accountant

Compare accountants on the things that bite later: is the fee fixed and written down, what exactly is included, who does the work, how fast do they answer in January. Proximity to York stopped being the differentiator the day filings went electronic.

Sole trader or limited company?

The honest answer changes with your profits. At lower profits, sole trader simplicity usually wins; as profits grow, a limited company's mix of salary and dividends, corporation tax rates and liability protection starts earning its extra admin. We run the actual numbers before recommending either.

Corporation tax dates work differently

A limited company juggles two regulators: Companies House wants accounts within nine months of year end, HMRC wants corporation tax paid at nine months and a day. Same starting point, different documents — and late filing penalties at Companies House escalate automatically and are rarely cancelled.

The VAT registration threshold

Some businesses register for VAT before they must — reclaiming input VAT can be worth it if your customers are VAT-registered themselves. Others should stay below deliberately. It's a real decision with real numbers, not a formality.

Penalties escalate on a timetable

Self Assessment lateness is priced in stages: £100 immediately, daily £10 penalties after three months (up to £900), then percentage-based charges at six and twelve months — all separate from interest on unpaid tax. The curve is designed to reward filing sooner, whatever the state of your records.

General guidance, not personal advice — thresholds and dates change. For advice on your own position in York, message us and we'll answer against your actual numbers.
