What makes us different

Online accountants vs the high street

Traditional firms around East Midlands still run on hourly billing, office appointments and fees you discover after the work. We built the opposite: written fixed fees agreed up front, unlimited questions inside the price, and a fully online workflow — no premises anywhere, so no premises priced into your fee in Wing.

There's no office to fund in Wing and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.

You review everything first. Then it goes to HMRC electronically and you get confirmation immediately.

Serving Wing

The same service in Wing as anywhere — by design

Whether your business trades from Wing itself or you simply live there and work everywhere, the tax rules are national — and so are we. Wing clients get the same preparers, the same fixed fees and the same deadline tracking as every other town on this site.

Smaller towns like Wing are exactly why we work online: the nearest high-street firm may be a drive away, keep office hours, and price like scarcity. Your accountant should be as close as your phone — and priced like competition exists.

Questions

Wing limited company accounts FAQs

My company hasn't traded — do I still need to file?

Yes. Even dormant companies must file accounts at Companies House and usually a confirmation statement. Our dormant package (£99) handles it all so you avoid penalties for a company that isn't even trading.

Which accounting standard will my accounts use?

Most small companies file micro-entity accounts under FRS 105 or small-company accounts under FRS 102 Section 1A. We pick the right one for your size and circumstances — it affects what's disclosed publicly at Companies House, and we'll explain the trade-offs.

Can you take over from my current accountant?

Yes — switching is easier than most directors expect. You tell your current accountant you're moving, we send a professional clearance letter, and they pass over your records. There's usually nothing else for you to do.

Do I need to visit an office in Wing?

No — there's nothing to visit and nothing to print. We're an online firm: records go through our secure portal or WhatsApp, and everything is filed electronically. It works the same whether you're in Wing or anywhere else in East Midlands.

I searched "company accounts near me" — is this service really local to Wing?

Wing is fully covered, yes. The work is done online, which in practice means more local than an office: same-day replies instead of appointment slots, and the same published fixed fee whether you're in Wing town centre or the edge of East Midlands. If you'd rather talk it through first, WhatsApp us — a real person answers.

Who will actually handle my company accounts?

Bohzo Accountants — a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a registered UK company (No. 15031604). You get a named contact, a fixed fee in writing, and nothing is filed until you've reviewed and approved it.

How do your fixed fees work?

You tell us your situation, we quote one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. If your case is unusually complex we'll say so up front and agree a different fixed price — but the fee is always agreed before we begin, never after.

Worth knowing

Things worth knowing before your next filing

IR35 and working through a company

Inside-IR35 and outside-IR35 engagements need different setups — sometimes umbrella, sometimes the company, sometimes both across a year. Contractors who plan this per-engagement keep more and worry less.

The VAT registration threshold

Some businesses register for VAT before they must — reclaiming input VAT can be worth it if your customers are VAT-registered themselves. Others should stay below deliberately. It's a real decision with real numbers, not a formality.

When HMRC writes to you

Compliance checks are usually specific: one return, one figure, one question. Answered promptly and with evidence, most close quickly. The expensive enquiries are the ones that started as unanswered letters.

Crypto is taxable — and visible

HMRC runs nudge-letter campaigns to crypto holders based on exchange data. If there are undeclared gains in past years, a voluntary disclosure is dramatically cheaper than waiting for the letter — penalties are scaled to cooperation.

Payroll and pensions for small employers

Auto-enrolment applies from the first eligible employee: assess, enrol, contribute, declare. The Pensions Regulator does check, and the fines for ignoring it are out of proportion to how simple compliance actually is.

Landlord tax has its own rules

Selling a rental property triggers capital gains tax with a tight reporting window — UK residential sales must be reported and the tax paid within 60 days of completion. It's one of the easiest deadlines in the whole system to miss, and one of the most penalised.

CIS: refunds hide in the paperwork

Limited companies in CIS reclaim differently to sole traders — through payroll or the company tax return rather than Self Assessment. Plenty of construction companies sit on refundable deductions without realising; a quick review of the CIS position often pays for itself immediately.

Side income and the £1,000 allowance

Selling online, freelancing on the side, renting out equipment — each can be a "trade" in HMRC's eyes once it's done with a profit motive. The good news: registering is straightforward, expenses become claimable, and done early it's a non-event.

General guidance, not personal advice — thresholds and dates change. For advice on your own position in Wing, message us and we'll answer against your actual numbers.
