What makes us different

Online accountants vs the high street

Most local firms near Cloud Side quote low, bill by the hour and reserve the right to charge for every phone call. Our model inverts that: the fee is fixed and written down before work begins, questions are part of the service rather than billable events, and everything happens online — the reason Cloud Side pays the same as everywhere else.

There's no office to fund in Cloud Side and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.

How it works

Payroll in Cloud Side: from first message to filed

Message us from Cloud Side

Start with a message — no forms, no phone queue. Tell us what needs doing and we take it from there.

Fixed quote in writing

One fixed price before any work starts. Complex case? We say so now, not on the invoice.

Online onboarding

The legal bits — ID verification, engagement letter — happen online in minutes, then your records come in via the portal or WhatsApp.

Approve, then we file

We prepare, you check and approve, we submit — and you get the HMRC confirmation the same day it's filed.

Serving Cloud Side

The same service in Cloud Side as anywhere — by design

Whether your business trades from Cloud Side itself or you simply live there and work everywhere, the tax rules are national — and so are we. Cloud Side clients get the same preparers, the same fixed fees and the same deadline tracking as every other town on this site.

A lot of our North West clients switched from local firms after one too many surprise invoices. The fix wasn't a cheaper local firm; it was removing the billing model that produces surprises. Fixed fees, in writing, before the work — that's the whole trick.

Questions

Cloud Side payroll FAQs

I'm the only employee of my company — do I need payroll?

If you pay yourself a salary, yes — you need a PAYE scheme and RTI submissions even for one person. Director-only payroll is our most popular package at £25/mo, and we set the salary at the most tax-efficient level for you.

What is auto-enrolment and does it apply to me?

Every employer must assess staff for a workplace pension and enrol eligible employees. Even if your only staff member is you as director, you have duties to declare. We handle assessments, letters and declarations as part of the service.

Can you take over payroll mid-year?

Yes — we transfer year-to-date figures from your old provider or HMRC records and carry straight on. Your staff won't notice anything except that payslips keep arriving on time.

Do I need to visit an office in Cloud Side?

No — there's nothing to visit and nothing to print. We're an online firm: records go through our secure portal or WhatsApp, and everything is filed electronically. It works the same whether you're in Cloud Side or anywhere else in North West.

I searched "payroll near me" — is this service really local to Cloud Side?

Cloud Side is fully covered, yes. The work is done online, which in practice means more local than an office: same-day replies instead of appointment slots, and the same published fixed fee whether you're in Cloud Side town centre or the edge of North West. If you'd rather talk it through first, WhatsApp us — a real person answers.

Who will actually handle my payroll?

Bohzo Accountants — a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a registered UK company (No. 15031604). You get a named contact, a fixed fee in writing, and nothing is filed until you've reviewed and approved it.

How do your fixed fees work?

You tell us your situation, we quote one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. If your case is unusually complex we'll say so up front and agree a different fixed price — but the fee is always agreed before we begin, never after.

Worth knowing

From our inbox: what Cloud Side businesses ask us

Dividends: the allowance is small now

The best salary-dividend mix moves with each year's thresholds and your other income. Setting it once in April — rather than guessing through the year — is one of the simplest pieces of planning a director can do.

Making Tax Digital is coming for income tax

MTD for Income Tax starts with the £50,000+ income group in April 2026, with lower bands following. Quarterly digital updates sound worse than they are — with software doing the bookkeeping, the quarters largely take care of themselves.

Payments on account, decoded

The July payment on account is the forgotten deadline: no return is due, but money often is. We diary it for every client it applies to, because HMRC charges interest from the day it's late even though nothing was "filed" late.

The 31 January deadline, without the panic

Miss 31 January and the £100 fine is automatic; three months later daily penalties start. If you're behind on a return, the maths almost always favours filing quickly over waiting — penalties grow on a timetable, and HMRC charges interest either way.

Capital gains: windows and allowances

The capital gains annual exempt amount has shrunk to £3,000, which pulls far more ordinary disposals — shares, crypto, second properties — into reporting territory. Gains that once fell under the allowance now need a return, even when the tax due is modest.

Your first year in business

Register with HMRC by the 5 October after your first tax year of trading, open a separate business account, and put a fixed slice of every payment aside for tax. Do those three things and your first January will be boring — the good kind.

Bookkeeping that takes minutes, not weekends

HMRC requires records to be kept for at least five years after the filing deadline for the self-employed. Digital copies count. A cloud folder or app now beats a carrier bag of paper every time — for you and for any future enquiry.

Switching accountants is easier than you think

Changing accountant mid-year is routine: you authorise the new firm, we write a professional clearance letter to the old one, records transfer, and HMRC authorisation moves online. Clients are usually surprised the whole thing needs almost nothing from them.

General guidance, not personal advice — thresholds and dates change. For advice on your own position in Cloud Side, message us and we'll answer against your actual numbers.
