What makes us different

Online accountants vs the high street

A high-street accountant in M25 Fringe typically bills by the hour, meets by appointment and prices each extra question. Our model inverts that: the fee is fixed and written down before work begins, questions are part of the service rather than billable events, and everything happens online — the reason Coopersale Common pays the same as everywhere else.

There's no office to fund in Coopersale Common and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.

How it works

Payroll in Coopersale Common: from first message to filed

Message us from Coopersale Common

Start with a message — no forms, no phone queue. Tell us what needs doing and we take it from there.

Fixed quote in writing

One fixed price before any work starts. Complex case? We say so now, not on the invoice.

Online onboarding

The legal bits — ID verification, engagement letter — happen online in minutes, then your records come in via the portal or WhatsApp.

Approve, then we file

We prepare, you check and approve, we submit — and you get the HMRC confirmation the same day it's filed.

Serving Coopersale Common

The same service in Coopersale Common as anywhere — by design

Coopersale Common sits in M25 Fringe, and like everywhere we serve, it gets the identical service and fee as central London — because nothing about our work depends on where you are. What matters is your situation, your records and your deadlines; all three travel over WhatsApp just fine.

A lot of our M25 Fringe clients switched from local firms after one too many surprise invoices. The fix wasn't a cheaper local firm; it was removing the billing model that produces surprises. Fixed fees, in writing, before the work — that's the whole trick.

Questions

Coopersale Common payroll FAQs

I'm the only employee of my company — do I need payroll?

If you pay yourself a salary, yes — you need a PAYE scheme and RTI submissions even for one person. Director-only payroll is our most popular package at £25/mo, and we set the salary at the most tax-efficient level for you.

What is auto-enrolment and does it apply to me?

Every employer must assess staff for a workplace pension and enrol eligible employees. Even if your only staff member is you as director, you have duties to declare. We handle assessments, letters and declarations as part of the service.

Can you take over payroll mid-year?

Yes — we transfer year-to-date figures from your old provider or HMRC records and carry straight on. Your staff won't notice anything except that payslips keep arriving on time.

Do I need to visit an office in Coopersale Common?

No — there's nothing to visit and nothing to print. We're an online firm: records go through our secure portal or WhatsApp, and everything is filed electronically. It works the same whether you're in Coopersale Common or anywhere else in M25 Fringe.

I searched "payroll near me" — is this service really local to Coopersale Common?

Coopersale Common is fully covered, yes. The work is done online, which in practice means more local than an office: same-day replies instead of appointment slots, and the same published fixed fee whether you're in Coopersale Common town centre or the edge of M25 Fringe. If you'd rather talk it through first, WhatsApp us — a real person answers.

Who will actually handle my payroll?

Bohzo Accountants — a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a registered UK company (No. 15031604). You get a named contact, a fixed fee in writing, and nothing is filed until you've reviewed and approved it.

How do your fixed fees work?

You tell us your situation, we quote one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. If your case is unusually complex we'll say so up front and agree a different fixed price — but the fee is always agreed before we begin, never after.

Worth knowing

The short version of the rules that matter

Payments on account, decoded

The July payment on account is the forgotten deadline: no return is due, but money often is. We diary it for every client it applies to, because HMRC charges interest from the day it's late even though nothing was "filed" late.

Side income and the £1,000 allowance

The trading allowance means up to £1,000 of gross side income per year can be tax-free with no return needed. Above that, registration and reporting kick in — and platforms now report seller data to HMRC, so "under the radar" isn't a strategy any more.

Allowable expenses: claim what's yours

Most self-employed people under-claim. Use of home, mileage at HMRC's approved rates, phone and broadband apportionment, trade subscriptions, training that updates existing skills — legitimate deductions left on the table add up to real tax overpaid year after year.

Corporation tax dates work differently

Company deadlines run off your accounting year end, not the tax year: corporation tax is payable nine months and one day after year end, and the CT600 return is due twelve months after. Confusingly, the payment is due before the return — a sequencing quirk that catches new directors.

Your first year in business

The first tax bill is the hardest because it can arrive with payments on account attached — up to 150% of the year's tax in one go. New businesses that save a quarter to a third of profits from day one never feel it.

The VAT registration threshold

The £90,000 VAT threshold is measured over any 12-month rolling window, so a strong few months can tip you over mid-year. There's a 30-day window to register once you cross it; miss that and HMRC can backdate the liability to when you should have registered.

Dividends: the allowance is small now

The best salary-dividend mix moves with each year's thresholds and your other income. Setting it once in April — rather than guessing through the year — is one of the simplest pieces of planning a director can do.

Penalties escalate on a timetable

Can't pay the bill by the deadline? File anyway. Filing and payment are penalised separately, and HMRC's Time to Pay arrangements can spread the bill — but only once the return is in. Not filing because you can't pay turns one problem into two.

General guidance, not personal advice — thresholds and dates change. For advice on your own position in Coopersale Common, message us and we'll answer against your actual numbers.
