Why Bohzo

Why choose Bohzo Accountants in Glan-Duar?

The price is the price

Before we touch anything for a Glan-Duar client, the fee is in writing — and it stays put. Hourly billing doesn't exist here.

Everything done online

Upload, approve, filed. The whole engagement runs from your phone or laptop, on your schedule rather than office hours.

Real company, real accountability

Bohzo Accountants is a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, Company No. 15031604.

Never miss a date again

Every filing date that applies to you goes in our diary the day you join — and we chase the records, not the other way round.

Transparent pricing

Compare our fixed sole trader accounts fees

Your situationFixed fee
Year-end accounts from tidy records£149
Accounts + Self Assessment bundle£229
Accounts from a shoebox of receipts£249
Accounts + monthly bookkeepingfrom £49/mo + £99/yr

“From” pricing reflects the simplest case; anything more complex is quoted as a fixed fee in writing before work begins — and never changes after.

What makes us different

Online accountants vs the high street

A high-street accountant in Wales typically bills by the hour, meets by appointment and prices each extra question. We work the other way round: one fixed fee agreed in writing before anything starts, every question included, and the whole engagement handled online — which is exactly why we can serve Glan-Duar at fees a walk-in office can't match.

There's no office to fund in Glan-Duar and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.

Serving Glan-Duar

The same service in Glan-Duar as anywhere — by design

Whether your business trades from Glan-Duar itself or you simply live there and work everywhere, the tax rules are national — and so are we. Glan-Duar clients get the same preparers, the same fixed fees and the same deadline tracking as every other town on this site.

A lot of our Wales clients switched from local firms after one too many surprise invoices. The fix wasn't a cheaper local firm; it was removing the billing model that produces surprises. Fixed fees, in writing, before the work — that's the whole trick.

Questions

Glan-Duar sole trader accounts FAQs

Do sole traders legally need accounts?

There's no Companies House filing for sole traders, but you must keep records supporting your Self Assessment — and proper accounts almost always save more tax than they cost, because expenses stop slipping through the cracks.

What expenses can I claim?

Anything wholly and exclusively for the business: materials, tools, mileage or vehicle costs, phone, insurance, home-office use, software, professional fees and more. Our job is claiming everything legitimate — clients are usually surprised by what they'd been missing.

My records are a mess — is that a problem?

Not for us. The 'shoebox' package exists precisely for carrier bags of receipts and a year of bank statements. We sort, categorise and build your accounts from whatever you have.

Do I need to visit an office in Glan-Duar?

No — there's nothing to visit and nothing to print. We're an online firm: records go through our secure portal or WhatsApp, and everything is filed electronically. It works the same whether you're in Glan-Duar or anywhere else in Wales.

I searched "accounts near me" — is this service really local to Glan-Duar?

Glan-Duar is fully covered, yes. The work is done online, which in practice means more local than an office: same-day replies instead of appointment slots, and the same published fixed fee whether you're in Glan-Duar town centre or the edge of Wales. If you'd rather talk it through first, WhatsApp us — a real person answers.

Who will actually handle my accounts?

Bohzo Accountants — a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a registered UK company (No. 15031604). You get a named contact, a fixed fee in writing, and nothing is filed until you've reviewed and approved it.

How do your fixed fees work?

You tell us your situation, we quote one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. If your case is unusually complex we'll say so up front and agree a different fixed price — but the fee is always agreed before we begin, never after.

Worth knowing

The short version of the rules that matter

The 31 January deadline, without the panic

Online Self Assessment returns are due by 31 January, along with any balancing payment — and HMRC's £100 penalty applies the moment the deadline passes, even if you owe nothing. Most Glan-Duar clients who come to us in January still file on time; the records just need to arrive before the last week.

When HMRC writes to you

Scam "HMRC" messages outnumber real ones — HMRC doesn't demand payment by gift card or threaten arrest by text. Real letters have reference numbers that we can verify directly with HMRC before anyone responds.

Payroll and pensions for small employers

Directors paying themselves a salary still need a PAYE scheme and RTI submissions, even in a one-person company. It's a five-minute monthly task with software — and a recurring penalty generator without it.

Crypto is taxable — and visible

Disposing of crypto — selling, swapping one coin for another, spending it — is a capital gains event, and staking or mining income is usually income. Exchanges share data with HMRC, so the tax position exists whether or not it's been calculated.

Landlord tax has its own rules

Rental profits need reporting once they're more than trivial, and the rules differ for furnished holiday lets, rent-a-room and ordinary lets. Landlords are also in the first wave of Making Tax Digital — property income counts towards the £50,000 threshold.

Side income and the £1,000 allowance

Selling online, freelancing on the side, renting out equipment — each can be a "trade" in HMRC's eyes once it's done with a profit motive. The good news: registering is straightforward, expenses become claimable, and done early it's a non-event.

Tax is a cash-flow event

The businesses that struggle with tax bills rarely have a tax problem; they have a timing problem. Knowing the bill in September instead of January — which filing early gives you for free — is the difference between planning and scrambling.

Allowable expenses: claim what's yours

Receipts win arguments. HMRC doesn't demand a shoebox of paper any more — photos in an app are fine — but every deduction needs evidence behind it. A ten-minute weekly habit beats a January archaeology dig, every time.

General guidance, not personal advice — thresholds and dates change. For advice on your own position in Glan-Duar, message us and we'll answer against your actual numbers.
