What makes us different

Online accountants vs the high street

A high-street accountant in West London typically bills by the hour, meets by appointment and prices each extra question. We work the other way round: one fixed fee agreed in writing before anything starts, every question included, and the whole engagement handled online — which is exactly why we can serve Earl's Court at fees a walk-in office can't match.

There's no office to fund in Earl's Court and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.

The same service in Earl's Court as anywhere — by design

We built this service so that someone in Earl's Court never pays a premium — or accepts worse service — because of geography. Same specialists, same published fees, same speed, wherever in West London you are.

Being in London, Earl's Court clients often come to us comparing against firms charging central-London rates for the same compliance work. The work is identical; the overheads aren't — and since we carry no premises anywhere, our fees don't care about postcodes.

Questions

Earl's Court tax planning FAQs

Is this tax avoidance?

No. We use allowances and reliefs exactly as intended — pensions, ISAs, dividend planning, marriage allowance, timing of income and gains. Nothing we recommend requires disclosure schemes or would trouble an HMRC review. If a plan needs a QC's opinion, it's not our kind of plan.

What's the £100k trap?

Between £100,000 and £125,140 of income you lose the personal allowance at £1 per £2, creating a 60% effective rate — and childcare entitlements can vanish at £100k too. Pension contributions are usually the clean fix. If you're near the line, a review typically pays for itself many times over.

When should company directors do planning?

Two moments: before the company year-end (pension contributions, timing of expenditure) and before 5 April (personal allowances, dividend timing). The pre-year-end session covers both calendars for your dates.

Do I need to visit an office in Earl's Court?

No — there's nothing to visit and nothing to print. We're an online firm: records go through our secure portal or WhatsApp, and everything is filed electronically. It works the same whether you're in Earl's Court or anywhere else in West London.

I searched "tax planning near me" — is this service really local to Earl's Court?

Earl's Court is fully covered, yes. The work is done online, which in practice means more local than an office: same-day replies instead of appointment slots, and the same published fixed fee whether you're in Earl's Court town centre or the edge of West London. If you'd rather talk it through first, WhatsApp us — a real person answers.

Who will actually handle my tax planning?

Bohzo Accountants — a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a registered UK company (No. 15031604). You get a named contact, a fixed fee in writing, and nothing is filed until you've reviewed and approved it.

How do your fixed fees work?

You tell us your situation, we quote one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. If your case is unusually complex we'll say so up front and agree a different fixed price — but the fee is always agreed before we begin, never after.

Worth knowing

Things worth knowing before your next filing

The 31 January deadline, without the panic

Online Self Assessment returns are due by 31 January, along with any balancing payment — and HMRC's £100 penalty applies the moment the deadline passes, even if you owe nothing. Most Earl's Court clients who come to us in January still file on time; the records just need to arrive before the last week.

IR35 and working through a company

If you contract through your own limited company, IR35 asks whether you'd be an employee without it. For medium and large clients, the status decision is theirs; for small clients, it's still yours — and getting it wrong in either direction costs money.

Tax is a cash-flow event

The businesses that struggle with tax bills rarely have a tax problem; they have a timing problem. Knowing the bill in September instead of January — which filing early gives you for free — is the difference between planning and scrambling.

The VAT registration threshold

VAT registration becomes compulsory once your taxable turnover in any rolling 12 months passes £90,000 — and "rolling" is the word that catches people, because it's not your accounting year. Businesses in Earl's Court growing towards that line should be watching it monthly.

Capital gains: windows and allowances

Timing disposals across tax years, using losses properly, and the spousal transfer rules can all legitimately reduce capital gains bills — but only before the sale. CGT planning after completion is just arithmetic.

Crypto is taxable — and visible

Disposing of crypto — selling, swapping one coin for another, spending it — is a capital gains event, and staking or mining income is usually income. Exchanges share data with HMRC, so the tax position exists whether or not it's been calculated.

Side income and the £1,000 allowance

HMRC receives data directly from online platforms about sellers' income. If a side hustle has grown past the £1,000 trading allowance, coming forward first is always cheaper than being written to — penalties scale with how the disclosure starts.

Your first year in business

The first tax bill is the hardest because it can arrive with payments on account attached — up to 150% of the year's tax in one go. New businesses that save a quarter to a third of profits from day one never feel it.
