What makes us different

Online accountants vs the high street

Traditional firms around East London still run on hourly billing, office appointments and fees you discover after the work. We built the opposite: written fixed fees agreed up front, unlimited questions inside the price, and a fully online workflow — no premises anywhere, so no premises priced into your fee in Plashet.

There's no office to fund in Plashet and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.

Serving Plashet

The same service in Plashet as anywhere — by design

Plashet sits in East London (E6), and like everywhere we serve, it gets the identical service and fee as central London — because nothing about our work depends on where you are. What matters is your situation, your records and your deadlines; all three travel over WhatsApp just fine.

London clients in Plashet tend to arrive with more moving parts — employment plus side income, shares, property. That's fine: the fixed quote covers your actual situation, agreed before we start, however many supplementary pages it needs.

Where we work around Plashet

Plashet sits in the borough of Newham (Plashet ward), E6 postcode area. Geography still shapes who people call, so here's Plashet's: the same fixed-fee service covers every place on this list, at the same price.

Questions

Plashet tax planning FAQs

Is this tax avoidance?

No. We use allowances and reliefs exactly as intended — pensions, ISAs, dividend planning, marriage allowance, timing of income and gains. Nothing we recommend requires disclosure schemes or would trouble an HMRC review. If a plan needs a QC's opinion, it's not our kind of plan.

What's the £100k trap?

Between £100,000 and £125,140 of income you lose the personal allowance at £1 per £2, creating a 60% effective rate — and childcare entitlements can vanish at £100k too. Pension contributions are usually the clean fix. If you're near the line, a review typically pays for itself many times over.

When should company directors do planning?

Two moments: before the company year-end (pension contributions, timing of expenditure) and before 5 April (personal allowances, dividend timing). The pre-year-end session covers both calendars for your dates.

Do I need to visit an office in Plashet?

No — there's nothing to visit and nothing to print. We're an online firm: records go through our secure portal or WhatsApp, and everything is filed electronically. It works the same whether you're in Plashet or anywhere else in East London.

I searched "tax planning near me" — is this service really local to Plashet?

Plashet is fully covered, yes. The work is done online, which in practice means more local than an office: same-day replies instead of appointment slots, and the same published fixed fee whether you're in Plashet town centre or the edge of East London. If you'd rather talk it through first, WhatsApp us — a real person answers.

Who will actually handle my tax planning?

Bohzo Accountants — a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a registered UK company (No. 15031604). You get a named contact, a fixed fee in writing, and nothing is filed until you've reviewed and approved it.

How do your fixed fees work?

You tell us your situation, we quote one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. If your case is unusually complex we'll say so up front and agree a different fixed price — but the fee is always agreed before we begin, never after.

Worth knowing

Things worth knowing before your next filing

IR35 and working through a company

If you contract through your own limited company, IR35 asks whether you'd be an employee without it. For medium and large clients, the status decision is theirs; for small clients, it's still yours — and getting it wrong in either direction costs money.

Switching accountants is easier than you think

Changing accountant mid-year is routine: you authorise the new firm, we write a professional clearance letter to the old one, records transfer, and HMRC authorisation moves online. Clients are usually surprised the whole thing needs almost nothing from them.

Dividends: the allowance is small now

The tax-free dividend allowance is down to £500, so almost any director taking dividends now pays some dividend tax — and needs a Self Assessment return to report it. The classic small-salary-plus-dividends strategy still works; it just needs actual planning rather than folklore.

Payments on account, decoded

If your last Self Assessment bill was over £1,000, HMRC usually asks for next year's tax in advance — half on 31 January, half on 31 July. It's the number-one cause of "why is my bill double?" calls, and it's manageable: if your income has dropped, the payments can be reduced with a claim.

Bookkeeping that takes minutes, not weekends

HMRC requires records to be kept for at least five years after the filing deadline for the self-employed. Digital copies count. A cloud folder or app now beats a carrier bag of paper every time — for you and for any future enquiry.

When HMRC writes to you

Compliance checks are usually specific: one return, one figure, one question. Answered promptly and with evidence, most close quickly. The expensive enquiries are the ones that started as unanswered letters.

Allowable expenses: claim what's yours

The expenses rule is "wholly and exclusively" for the trade — which covers more than most people claim (proportionate home-working costs, business mileage, software subscriptions) and less than some hope (client entertaining, everyday clothing). Knowing the line is where the savings live.

The 31 January deadline, without the panic

Every year a wave of returns gets filed in the final days of January. It works, but it's the most expensive way to do it: no time to check for missed reliefs, and any tax due lands as one surprise. Sending your records early — even unsorted — is the single best gift you can give your January self.

General guidance, not personal advice — thresholds and dates change. For advice on your own position in Plashet, message us and we'll answer against your actual numbers.
