What makes us different

Online accountants vs the high street

A high-street accountant in North West London typically bills by the hour, meets by appointment and prices each extra question. We built the opposite: written fixed fees agreed up front, unlimited questions inside the price, and a fully online workflow — no premises anywhere, so no premises priced into your fee in South Harrow.

There's no office to fund in South Harrow and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.

Questions

South Harrow tax planning FAQs

Is this tax avoidance?

No. We use allowances and reliefs exactly as intended — pensions, ISAs, dividend planning, marriage allowance, timing of income and gains. Nothing we recommend requires disclosure schemes or would trouble an HMRC review. If a plan needs a QC's opinion, it's not our kind of plan.

What's the £100k trap?

Between £100,000 and £125,140 of income you lose the personal allowance at £1 per £2, creating a 60% effective rate — and childcare entitlements can vanish at £100k too. Pension contributions are usually the clean fix. If you're near the line, a review typically pays for itself many times over.

When should company directors do planning?

Two moments: before the company year-end (pension contributions, timing of expenditure) and before 5 April (personal allowances, dividend timing). The pre-year-end session covers both calendars for your dates.

Do I need to visit an office in South Harrow?

No — there's nothing to visit and nothing to print. We're an online firm: records go through our secure portal or WhatsApp, and everything is filed electronically. It works the same whether you're in South Harrow or anywhere else in North West London.

I searched "tax planning near me" — is this service really local to South Harrow?

South Harrow is fully covered, yes. The work is done online, which in practice means more local than an office: same-day replies instead of appointment slots, and the same published fixed fee whether you're in South Harrow town centre or the edge of North West London. If you'd rather talk it through first, WhatsApp us — a real person answers.

Who will actually handle my tax planning?

Bohzo Accountants — a trading name of Bohzo Ltd, a registered UK company (No. 15031604). You get a named contact, a fixed fee in writing, and nothing is filed until you've reviewed and approved it.

How do your fixed fees work?

You tell us your situation, we quote one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. If your case is unusually complex we'll say so up front and agree a different fixed price — but the fee is always agreed before we begin, never after.

Worth knowing

Things worth knowing before your next filing

The 31 January deadline, without the panic

Online Self Assessment returns are due by 31 January, along with any balancing payment — and HMRC's £100 penalty applies the moment the deadline passes, even if you owe nothing. Most South Harrow clients who come to us in January still file on time; the records just need to arrive before the last week.

Payments on account, decoded

If your last Self Assessment bill was over £1,000, HMRC usually asks for next year's tax in advance — half on 31 January, half on 31 July. It's the number-one cause of "why is my bill double?" calls, and it's manageable: if your income has dropped, the payments can be reduced with a claim.

Bookkeeping that takes minutes, not weekends

HMRC requires records to be kept for at least five years after the filing deadline for the self-employed. Digital copies count. A cloud folder or app now beats a carrier bag of paper every time — for you and for any future enquiry.

Capital gains: windows and allowances

UK residential property sales have their own regime: report and pay within 60 days of completion, separately from Self Assessment. Other gains report annually. Mixing up the two timetables is a common and expensive mistake.

Landlord tax has its own rules

Rental profits need reporting once they're more than trivial, and the rules differ for furnished holiday lets, rent-a-room and ordinary lets. Landlords are also in the first wave of Making Tax Digital — property income counts towards the £50,000 threshold.

Corporation tax dates work differently

Company deadlines run off your accounting year end, not the tax year: corporation tax is payable nine months and one day after year end, and the CT600 return is due twelve months after. Confusingly, the payment is due before the return — a sequencing quirk that catches new directors.

Payroll and pensions for small employers

Auto-enrolment applies from the first eligible employee: assess, enrol, contribute, declare. The Pensions Regulator does check, and the fines for ignoring it are out of proportion to how simple compliance actually is.

Switching accountants is easier than you think

The best time to switch is after a filing, but it works at any point in the year. What matters is not letting a looming deadline stop you: a new firm can usually pick up an in-flight year faster than you'd think.

General guidance, not personal advice — thresholds and dates change. For advice on your own position in South Harrow, message us and we'll answer against your actual numbers.
