Why Bohzo

Why City businesses pick Bohzo

Never miss a date again

Every filing date that applies to you goes in our diary the day you join — and we chase the records, not the other way round.

The price is the price

Before we touch anything for a City client, the fee is in writing — and it stays put. Hourly billing doesn't exist here.

Everything done online

Upload, approve, filed. The whole engagement runs from your phone or laptop, on your schedule rather than office hours.

Real company, real accountability

What makes us different

Online accountants vs the high street

Most local firms near City quote low, bill by the hour and reserve the right to charge for every phone call. We built the opposite: written fixed fees agreed up front, unlimited questions inside the price, and a fully online workflow — no premises anywhere, so no premises priced into your fee in City.

There's no office to fund in City and no office to visit: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, approvals happen on your phone, and filings go to HMRC and Companies House electronically. You get the same qualified work — minus the overheads, the travel and the surprises on the invoice.

City & around

Where we work around City

City is part of Yorkshire, with Morley its nearest neighbour — about 0.1 miles to the south-west. Wherever you are around City, the numbers below are why "near me" matters less than it used to — every place in the list gets the same service, the same day.

Distances are straight-line, between place centres. Every listed place — and everywhere between — is served online at the same fixed fees.

Questions

Accountants in City: FAQs

Do you have an office in City?

No — and that's deliberate. We're online accountants serving City and the whole UK: records travel through our secure portal or WhatsApp, filings go to HMRC electronically, and the savings on premises show up in our fixed fees.

Which accounting services are available in City?

All our core services are available in City: Self Assessment, limited company accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, corporation tax, sole trader accounts and company formation — each at a fixed fee. Specialist services are available on request.

I searched "accountant near me" — do you actually cover City?

Yes — City is fully covered. We're online accountants, so "near" works differently: no office to drive to, but same-day responses, filings handled for City businesses every week, and local detail like Yorkshire deadlines and postcodes built into how we work. For most people that beats an office across town they'd visit once a year.

How quickly can you start?

Usually the same week. Message us on WhatsApp, get your fixed quote in writing, complete online onboarding (including the identity checks UK accountants must run), and send your records — most engagements start within days.

How do your fixed fees work?

Every job is quoted as one fixed price in writing before work starts, and that price never changes mid-job. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices — if something extra comes up, it gets its own quote first.

Worth knowing

The short version of the rules that matter

Payroll and pensions for small employers

Auto-enrolment applies from the first eligible employee: assess, enrol, contribute, declare. The Pensions Regulator does check, and the fines for ignoring it are out of proportion to how simple compliance actually is.

Crypto is taxable — and visible

HMRC runs nudge-letter campaigns to crypto holders based on exchange data. If there are undeclared gains in past years, a voluntary disclosure is dramatically cheaper than waiting for the letter — penalties are scaled to cooperation.

Side income and the £1,000 allowance

The trading allowance means up to £1,000 of gross side income per year can be tax-free with no return needed. Above that, registration and reporting kick in — and platforms now report seller data to HMRC, so "under the radar" isn't a strategy any more.

The 31 January deadline, without the panic

Miss 31 January and the £100 fine is automatic; three months later daily penalties start. If you're behind on a return, the maths almost always favours filing quickly over waiting — penalties grow on a timetable, and HMRC charges interest either way.

Making Tax Digital is coming for income tax

If you're a sole trader or landlord anywhere near the £50,000 income mark, Making Tax Digital will change your filing rhythm from 2026: four digital updates a year plus a final declaration. Clients who move their records to software early find the transition a non-event.

Capital gains: windows and allowances

UK residential property sales have their own regime: report and pay within 60 days of completion, separately from Self Assessment. Other gains report annually. Mixing up the two timetables is a common and expensive mistake.

The VAT registration threshold

Some businesses register for VAT before they must — reclaiming input VAT can be worth it if your customers are VAT-registered themselves. Others should stay below deliberately. It's a real decision with real numbers, not a formality.

Switching accountants is easier than you think

People stay with the wrong accountant for years because switching feels disruptive. In practice the profession has a standard handover process — clearance letters, copies of prior returns and working papers — and the new firm drives it, not you.

General guidance, not personal advice — thresholds and dates change. For advice on your own position in City, message us and we'll answer against your actual numbers.
